We will look into our User-Defined Table exporter tool which can export the User Defined Table data into an excel readable format and also into HDL format which can be used to migrate the UDT into another POD. It can also be used to create the under-development UDT into DEV POD post refresh from PROD or any other upper instance.

These are the features of digital products proprietary to Fusion HCM Knowledgebase and are not available for FREE.

We can create a BI Report to pull this information and format them into HDL format and then use it for data loads or view them in an excel file.

I have created the below set of reports which can directly be imported to any instance and are ready to use.

List of reports and their features:

  1. UDT Column Data Excel Report
  2. UDT HDL Complete Delete Report
  3. UDT HDL Export Report
  4. UDT HDL Row Col Inst Delete Report
  5. UDT PBL Export Report

Now, let’s look into details of these reports:

UDT Column Data Excel Report

This report can be used to view the User-Defined Table setup in an Excel format to verify the values or keep them for future reference.

We have the option to select one UDT table and then select multiple columns or single column. Default will be All columns.

Once we click Apply, an excel file will be downloaded with details and it will look like:

If there are multiple columns, then all columns will be listed one by one sorted by Column and Row values.

UDT HDL Complete Delete Report

This report pulls the complete UDT Delete instructions in an HDL DAT file format.

It takes the User Defined Table Name as input and once we click Apply, it will generate the HDL DAT file with all delete instructions for UDT Structure, Columns, Rows and Column Instances. The entire structure of UDT will get deleted.

We can use this if we want to revamp the UDT structure when it has been configured incorrectly.

We can save it as UserDefinedTable.dat and zip it and then import them on HCM Data Loader screen to get the UDT deleted.

UDT HDL Export Report

This report can be used to export the User Defined Table into HDL format and can be imported into another POD or same POD post refresh.

This report takes input of User Defined Table Name and generates the HDL DAT file.

We can save it as UserDefinedTable.dat and zip it and then import them on HCM Data Loader screen to get the UDT loaded.

UDT HDL Row Col Inst Delete Report

This report is a subset of the 2nd report. However it generates the delete instructions for Column Instances and Rows. It will be handy if we want to delete only the data in the table and refresh it without modifying the UDT structure.

We can save it as UserDefinedTable.dat and zip it and then import them on HCM Data Loader screen to get the UDT loaded.

UDT PBL Export Report

This report can be used to export the UDT into PBL (Payroll Batch Loader) format. PBL was to be decommissioned by 20C release. However Oracle has been postponing the decommission by several releases. We can use this report till it gets decommissioned.

This report takes the UDT name as input and generates the output in PBL format. And then UDT can be created using the PBL UDT tasks.
